The Tamsa River in Uttar Pradesh was dying due to heavy silt, plastic waste, and illegal construction. To save it, 111 villages joined forces to clean an 89 km stretch. They dug out mud to help the water flow, removed heaps of trash, and planted fruit trees along the banks. This teamwork has restored the river’s health, providing farmers with better water for crops and giving the community cleaner, safer spaces for their daily rituals and festivals.
