UltraTech Cement has launched Ultravolt with ₹1,800 crore behind it and a plant at Jhagadia in Gujarat, aiming to be among the top two by capacity within five years and to reach over one lakh retailers. Shares of existing makers fell on the news, so the competition is expected to be real.
