Coal reaching a power station by rail rather than road means less dust, fewer trucks and steadier electricity. RVNL has won a ₹903 crore award from SJVN Thermal to build a permanent siding and aerial track connection for the 1,320 MW Buxar power project in Bihar, to be finished in 36 months. That is three years of work for local crews. The plant it will serve still burns coal.
