Delhi’s waste pickers face unstable income, exploitation, and a lack of dignity within a fragmented, informal recycling system. A 20-year-old Karan Kumar launched Finobadi, a startup that formalizes waste collection through an app, digital weighing, and organized sorting hubs. The initiative has recycled 450 tonnes of waste and planted 3,318 trees. It ensures transparent, steady earnings for 70+ workers, increasing their income by 30% and bringing respect to invisible labour.
