More optical fibre made in India means faster broadband at home and a bigger share of the world's cable orders. Sterlite Technologies' board has approved around ₹3,000 crore to expand its existing plant, lifting manufacturing capacity by about 50% by the end of FY29. The demand is coming from global fibre networks and AI data centres. The capacity is still years away, and the money will come from internal cash and borrowing.
