India-made optical fibre is heading into the world's biggest AI data centres. Sterlite Technologies' factory-built fibre cable assemblies have cleared the US NFPA 262 'plenum' fire-safety test, letting them be installed inside American data-centre buildings without extra field work. It opens a fast-growing export market, earns foreign exchange and builds high-skill jobs at home — showing India can supply premium telecom hardware, not just import it.
