Saving History in a Glass: The Grand Rise of Muscat Shiragai
To save the rare, wild Shiraga grape, researchers at Okayama University of Science mixed it with Muscat of Alexandria. This famous, ancient grape is known as the "Queen of Grapes" for its sweet, floral taste. By combining them, they created "Muscat Shiragai." This new grape is tough against diseases but tastes delicious. This project is a big win for Kurashiki City. It creates a local brand to attract tourists and help businesses. Soon, people can enjoy a unique red wine that helps both nature and the economy.
