New Stem Cell Eye Implant Could Restore Sight for the Blind
An eye disease called macular degeneration causes millions to lose their vision. It destroys the "camera cells" in the eye. Once these cells die, they don’t grow back. Scientists made a tiny "living patch" thinner than a hair. This patch is covered in new stem cells that replace the dead ones, acting like fresh spare parts for the eye. This can actually bring back sight. It gives people a second chance to see faces and read again.
