Kamakshi and Vishala Khurana, the founders of 'The Sound Space,' noticed that lack of space and access deterred children in South Mumbai’s bastis from learning music. Their ingenious solution? 'Soundspace on Wheels,' a mobile music classroom inside a converted bus. The initiative now travels to seven communities weekly, educating over 500 children aged five to 12. These sessions use Indian classical music to strengthen language skills, build social-emotional awareness, and provide a safe haven of creative expression for underprivileged kids.
