A refiner buying its own wind power means less coal burnt to run the plants that make our fuel. Inox Wind has won a ₹755 crore turnkey order from Indian Oil for a 100 MW wind project — turbines, engineering, construction and post-commissioning maintenance included. It is a repeat order, so Indian Oil has come back after earlier work together. Wind output swings with the season, so the plant will not run at full output all year.
