Solar and wind farms are useless if the power cannot reach homes. Ceigall India has received a letter of intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy to build part of the system that will carry electricity from renewable projects at Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar in Gujarat. The project costs ₹5,300 crore and earns ₹608.67 crore a year in transmission charges for 35 years. Lines like this take years to build, so the power flows only later.
