Indore’s problem was a toxic 100-acre landfill that remained despite ₹60 crore in failed spending. As a solution, IAS Asheesh Singh used "scientific biomining," clearing 13 lakh tonnes of waste in six months for under ₹10 crore. He used bio-cultures and mechanical sorting to recover value. The benefit was massive: the city saved ₹50 crore and reclaimed land now worth ₹400 crore, turning a public health hazard into a valuable urban asset.
