Summer water scarcity in Udanti–Sitanadi Tiger Reserve forced animals into villages, causing deadly human-wildlife conflict and attracting poachers to dry ponds. They installed solar-powered pumps to refill forest ponds and electrified remote guard camps to improve safety and monitoring. Villagers face fewer animal attacks, and forest guards now have light, power, and safety deep in the woods.
