Mining and development in Uttarakhand destroyed local wildlife habitats. To fix this, Daleep and Inder Akoi used the Mahavan Biodiversity Project to turn barren land into a lush forest. By planting native trees and saving rainwater, they created a retreat where guests can see conservation in action. Now, everything from majestic tigers to rare moths and dragonflies has a safe place to live and flourish once again.
