India is building the ability to power its own military drones instead of importing critical engines. Bharat Forge has teamed up with RTX's Pratt & Whitney Canada to evaluate turboprop engines for the country's indigenous high-altitude, long-endurance surveillance drone programme. The tie-up brings advanced aero-engine know-how into India, supports high-skill jobs and strengthens defence self-reliance — a capability that compounds over years rather than a one-day gain.
