Some speciality chemicals India uses are bought in from abroad because nobody here makes them. Aarti Industries has commissioned the first phase of its Zone IV project at Jhagadia in Gujarat — calcium chloride, PEDA for agrochemicals, and part of a multipurpose plant that can switch between products. The company says several products planned from Zone IV will be made in India for the first time. Customer approvals come next.
