This Student-Built Microgrid Brings Constant Power to Villages

In remote Indian villages, unreliable electricity often leaves families in the dark. To solve this, NIT Rourkela researchers built an intelligent hybrid microgrid combining solar, wind, biomass, and pico-hydro power. This smart system uses advanced algorithms to balance energy flow, ensuring uninterrupted power even when the weather changes. By providing 10 kWh of clean energy, it lights up four homes at once, empowering rural communities with better education and a higher standard of living.
