Stronger, smarter power lines: Systematic Industries has won a Rs 82.42 crore order from POWERGRID to supply and install optical ground wire (OPGW) on transmission lines. OPGW is the wire strung atop high-voltage towers that both shields the line from lightning and carries optical-fibre data, so it improves grid safety and adds communication capacity at once. For the company it is a fresh win from a marquee state utility, deepening its order book.
