Surat's urban heat makes city life uncomfortably hot and disconnected from nature. Entrepreneur Nishit Nitin Kapadia solved this by turning his home into a "green lung" with 800+ plants. By covering walls in thick creepers and planting 90 tree species, he created a microclimate that stays 10°C cooler than the street. This natural cooling saves energy, while the garden provides a home for 25 bird species, proving that city homes can be both cool and eco-friendly.
