Kyrgyzstan faces power shortages in winter because its rivers flow slower, making hydropower less reliable. To solve this, the country built its first 100MW solar plant. This facility provides a steady supply of clean electricity to the growing Kemin district. Local people benefit from more stable power and a cleaner environment, as the plant cuts 120,000 tons of CO2 emissions every year. It also brings new jobs and major foreign investment to the local economy.
