Heart disease is a "silent killer" because standard tests miss early damage in tiny blood vessels. Scientists at Helmholtz Munich developed fast-RSOM, a portable scanner that "sees" through skin to map these vessels in 3D. It identifies dysfunction years before symptoms appear. This gives people a life-saving head start, allowing doctors to catch risks during routine checkups so patients can fix their heart health before serious damage occurs.
