Cheaper, reliable irrigation for farmers: Shakti Pumps will supply 10,000 off-grid solar water-pumping systems to Maharashtra farmers under the state's Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump scheme, a Rs 236 crore order from power utility MSEDCL. The pumps run on free sunshine instead of costly diesel or a patchy grid, lowering running costs and giving water on demand. Delivery is due within 60 days.
