No Towers Needed: ISRO Rocket Brings Mobile Network From Space
ISRO’s LVM3 rocket launched the BlueBird satellite to bring 4G/5G connectivity to the world's most remote areas. Billions in isolated or disaster-hit regions lack mobile networks as traditional cell towers cannot be built in difficult terrains. This "space-based cell tower" beams signals directly to standard smartphones from orbit. People in remote spots can now access education and healthcare using their normal phones.
