In rural Birbhum, tribal women were trapped in poverty on barren land. To solve this, the NGO AIM created Moram, a sustainable homestay and craft hub. It trains women in arts like Kantha embroidery and pottery, even launching the fashion label Deshaj. This initiative has turned 2,500 women into independent artists and transformed 12 acres of red soil into a thriving forest, building a self-sustained rural economy and restoring their dignity.
