Extra railway tracks mean faster, cheaper movement of coal, goods and passengers across eastern India. IRCON International has won an ₹862 crore contract from East Central Railway to build the third and fourth lines on the Son Nagar–Andal route in Bihar, designed for heavy 32.5-tonne axle loads and due in about a year. It eases congestion on a busy freight corridor and creates construction jobs along the way.
