Electric ferries mean cleaner air and quieter, more pleasant river travel for everyday commuters and tourists — replacing diesel boats with zero-emission ones. Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), a defence PSU shipbuilder, won a ₹45.02 crore commercial order from the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation to build electric ferries (announced 24 August).
