In Mao, Manipur, farmers struggled with low income and difficult terrain, often seeing their flowers go to waste due to a lack of market access. Chokhone Krichena solved this by founding Dianthe, a social enterprise that bridges the rural-urban gap. She introduced a buy-back policy and shifted focus to dried flowers, which are easier to ship and last longer. This has tripled farmer incomes, empowered local women, and turned flower waste into award-winning, eco-friendly decor for 18 states.
