In Jaipur’s intense heat, a peacock seeking water became trapped in a steep, smooth-walled canal. Visibly exhausted and unable to fly, the bird was rescued by Lakhan Khokhar and his team from the Masoom Care Foundation. After a safety check and recovery, the peacock was prepared for release. This incident highlights the critical need for animal-friendly urban design, such as escape ramps, to protect wildlife and prevent preventable tragedies in shared human-animal spaces.
