Extreme summer heat makes homes unbearably hot, leading to high AC bills and the use of expensive, non-eco-friendly insulation. Architect Gokul Goyal used 7,000 earthen kulhads (cups) inside his terrace floor. These cups trap air to block heat, while reflective tiles on top bounce away 70% of sunlight. This keeps the house naturally cool and lowers electricity costs. It’s a cheap, sustainable, and low-maintenance way to beat the heat.
