Fresh long-term capital for an Indian electric two-wheeler maker, which funds more affordable electric scooters and charging points — and cleaner, quieter city air as they replace petrol vehicles. On 28 August, 1.19 crore Ather Energy shares — close to 3% of the company — changed hands at ₹1,480 apiece in the block deal window, worth about ₹1,758 crore. The buyer was Hero MotoCorp, already Ather's largest shareholder, and the seller was Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC, which trimmed its holding.
