Many private taxi apps are unfair, charging high fees and delaying driver pay. The government launched "Bharat Taxi," a cooperative model where drivers are "Sarathis"—partners and owners—instead of just workers. This stops exploitation and provides cheaper, fair prices for passengers. The plan is to bring this service to 500 cities and villages across India within two years.
