Weapons India once imported will now be built at home. Bharat Dynamics (BDL) has won a ₹1,307 crore Navy order for Varunastra heavyweight torpedoes, India's own anti-submarine weapon, to be delivered over 42 months. Building them locally keeps money and skilled jobs in the country, cuts reliance on foreign arms and strengthens coastal defence. For investors, it adds to BDL's large order book — a steady, long-horizon revenue stream.
