Patients who need epilepsy medicine stand to get a cheaper generic option as more makers enter the market. Aurobindo Pharma has won final US FDA approval for Perampanel tablets, a generic of Fycompa, covering a market worth about US$67 million a year. The drug will be made in India and launched later this financial year, bringing export earnings, foreign exchange and skilled pharma jobs home.
