Keratoconus is an eye condition that can lead to severe vision loss, but predicting its progression has been difficult and time-consuming. Researchers developed an AI model trained on 36,000 eye scans that can predict disease risk with about 90% accuracy during the first visit. This allows early treatment for high-risk patients while reducing unnecessary follow-ups for others, improving care efficiency and helping prevent blindness.
